Hey just wanted to pop in and give an update on a few things!
PODCASTS: First off, we've had a few podcasts. Including: "Ready Player One", "Tarantino Deep Cuts: Director", "Isle of Dogs" and "John Carpenter". We cranked out quite a few episodes this month with quite a bit of variety. The next one will be Deadpool 2 in mid-May. I.C. RECAP: So earlier this year, we started doing a show called I.C. RECAP and it was meant to be a way summarize everything that has happened over the coarse of a month in a short video featuring Cantu and I. Primarily, it was supposed to be an easily consumable way for social media followers to get caught up (mainly Facebook users). Unfortunately, the way Facebook has changed things, you basically have to pay money if you want literally anyone to see your posts. Even the people who followed you. I'm pretty wise to the fact that people don't like to be bothered with excessive notifications. I'm one of those people. My personal goal is to not annoy any of the people who are nice enough to follow us. So, along with that and the fact that even the minimal effort we have to put in to producing the videos takes away from productivity on other things, we made a decision to cancel it. That being said, a blog post or a tweet is just as effective. Why bother doing something that only serves to be a burden? If there's a need for it, it will return. As for right now, there isn't one. EVERYTHING ELSE: So what else is going on? This month has been extremely busy. I've barely had any room to breath, myself. The main focus has been split between animating HOW MUCH (which is nearly finished and moving into post-production) and what I've been spending most of MY time on, which is creating a full assembly cut for LEFT HOOK. This is just an animatic with unmixed audio, but it tells us everything we need to know going forward. I'm very excited about everything we're working on right now. Even bigger updates are sure to come fairly soon. But until then, that's all I've got. -Tyler

A little late on the blog post, I know! As you can imagine, we've been extremely busy.
On Wednesday, we released a 5-minute sneak peak of the film. So far, it's gone over pretty well. We're super proud of how it turned out. Of course, there are a few things that we will be tweaking. Such as audio and a few visual elements. Also, the music we used is temporary. But this should give everyone a good idea of what the film will be like. Anyway, we can't thank everyone enough for all the support we've gotten so far! An important thing o note is that the full $25,000 goal is just an ideal number. We are prepared to work with what ever we get. The campaign page has a list of what we can do at certain milestones. Even if the campaign ended right now, we would be able to use what we've gotten and it would be up to us to find a way to either fill in the rest or pull it off without the money. We're dedicated to making this film our best one yet! Next week, we will be releasing a behind the scenes video with interviews from our lead voice cast. Look forward to that!
I'm sure after the campaign, we will have a big update talking about just how this year is going to shake out. There are lots of things to be excited about!
Recently, David Young was in town and we recorded a podcast over the film AKIRA. You can listen to that HERE. I think the episode turned out pretty good. Next time, we will be continuing our new annual tradition of The Golden Jamie Awards! That's all for now! See ya next week! -Tyler
LEFT HOOK:
February will be a big month for us and this project in particular. We have pretty much completed everything we need to for the fundraiser and we're extremely excited to get the ball rolling on it. Also nervous. But that's all a part of the process. We've spent the last several months really working extra hard on this (not that we weren't before then as well) and I'm feeling really good about everything we've made. I just got back from the Kansas City area again today because I was recording an interview with IX Productions where we talked about the film. That should be going up during the fundraiser. There is still so much work ahead of us and I'm excited to get around to it. PODCAST: We also recently put out a podcast on the films of Mamoru Hosoda! You can listen to that HERE! We'll have another one out fairly soon on one of our favorite films, AKIRA! That's all I've got for you right now. Talk to you again very soon! -Tyler
Also, to play a bit of catch up here, we have released three new podcast episodes since our last update. Those being: "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" (featuring David Cantu), "Christmas Special of the Thrill" and "Don Hertzfeldt" (both featuring Beth Christine). The next one will be later this month on the films of Mamoru Hosada. None of us have seen any of them yet, so we're excited to check them out! Something else that has happened recently is that our feature, LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT, was put on both Amazon Prime and Vimeo On Demand. There will be links to all of the options on the film's page, HERE. The content you get on Vimeo is pretty much the same as VHX, minus a pdf booklet. The version on Amazon is free to watch for Prime members, but it is only the film by itself, no bonus material. Maybe give that a watch. It is a New Years movie after all.
