David Wayne Young is a screenwriter, producer, director and actor. His love for literature has long been an inspiration to his career. David first began writing at the age of 6 and developed an interest in acting in the sixth grade. It was much later, while attending college that he met Christopher Strong in a screenwriting class. After learning David was an actor, he had him audition for the lead role in the studio's first feature, LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT.
After becoming friends with Tyler and Chris on set, they kept in touch and continued to collaborate, with David serving as an actor and consultant on their scripts. Thus, David became a part of Illumination Cinema.
Since becoming a part of the team in 2016, David not only became a producer on the feature film LEFT HOOK, he also wrote and directed his first short film, HOW MUCH and quickly followed up with a feature-length version of WISH YOU WERE HERE.
It should also be known that David is quite fond of dogs, loves weird fiction, and can make a mean PB&J without slicing his hand open. We're looking at you, Chris.
