Caitlyn Cody is a cinematographer and editor. She’s been a part of dozens of short films, 3 features, and numerous commercial projects. Her films have been featured in festivals worldwide, winning awards from Best Female Filmmaker to Best Cinematography. Caitlyn graduated from Wichita State University in the Fall of 2021 with a degree in Media Arts Filmmaking. She works as a professional editor and continues to DP for short films and features. Her passion for filmmaking began in high school after taking a film studies course where she was able to watch and review classics in cinema. This inspired her to start making movies with her friends, and before she graduated high school, Caitlyn had produced 3 short films. In 2017, she first volunteered for the Tallgrass Film Association as an Emerging Programmer Apprentice, watching and reviewing student films for the festival -- further growing her interest in anything related to film. Caitlyn has volunteered with the Tallgrass Film Festival for the past 8 years through programming, managing social media, and being a juror for the female feature and documentary categories. Through the festival and local Wichita film community, Caitlyn found friendships with Tyler W. Moore, Gina Bryant, and Roy Nugen -- running camera for multiple of their projects, including ARRIVE ALIVE and HOLE IN THE GROUND.
